Camarillo police have arrested a 29-year-old teacher on suspicion of sending sexually explicit messages to a 16-year-old student at Cornerstone Christian School in Camarillo.
Teacher Dave Woods is accused of sending text messages to the female student, police said.
Woods was taken to Ventura County Jail on Thursday and later released.
He is scheduled to appear in Ventura County Superior Court at 8:15 a.m. April 6.
The investigation is ongoing. Detectives ask anyone with additional information to contact the Camarillo Police Department at 388-5100.
